I’ve been working on a new project in Windsor, CO, where most of the neighborhood leans full farmhouse—think shiplap, warm neutrals, and cozy-but-expected finishes. But my client? They were ready to break the mold. From day one, they were clear: their new living room and kitchen needed to make a statement. So we dove into mood boards, mockups, and one very fun shopping trip, embracing daring prints, rich dark tones, and pieces with real personality. It’s the kind of creative challenge I live for.
This project was especially exciting because the clients were upsizing in a major way—from a 1,400 sq. ft. bungalow to nearly 4,000 sq. ft. of open, airy space complete with huge windows, a massive backyard, and even a mother-in-law suite. With a 7-month-old baby boy and two pups running around, the goal was clear: bold design that still works for real life. We mapped out a phased approach and focused our first round on the kitchen and living room with a $10k budget. The mission? Bring in color, drama, and warmth while making sure everything is baby-friendly, dog-friendly, and durable enough for daily chaos.
I’m so excited to share the layout and mockups for their new space—this design is playful, moody, and full of life. Install day is coming next month, and I can’t wait to show the full transformation once everything is in place!
